Your Key Shell Is Broken.
Your Key Isn't.
A cracked or worn shell doesn't mean you need a new key. In most cases the electronics are still fine. We swap the housing — no reprogramming, fraction of dealer cost.

What Kind of Key Do You Have?
Every brand has its own failure pattern. Click yours to see what we find and what the fix looks like.
Chrysler FOBIK Shell
The FOBIK used on Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Ram, Jeep Grand Cherokee and more has a rubber button pad with small silver conductive discs on the underside. Each disc must land on a gold contact pad on the circuit board to complete the circuit.
The board never fails. The silver discs shift out of position inside the rubber pad — even a millimetre off-centre means they miss the gold contacts entirely. Buttons stop responding even though everything electronic is intact.
- Lock or unlock button stopped working
- Panic button went dead first
- Squeezing the sides makes it work momentarily
- Works in warm weather, fails in cold
- Shell halves separating or rattling
Honda Remote Head Key
Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V, Pilot — all use a remote head key where the blade is held by a small screw inside the shell. The plastic at the screw hole is the thinnest point. Every insertion applies rotational stress there until it cracks.
The blade gets loose, the key head separates, and eventually it's held together with tape. We stock stronger upgraded shells — thicker at the pivot point, better than OEM.
- Shell cracked at blade screw hole
- Blade loose or wobbly when inserted
- Key head held together with tape
- Crack spreading toward button area
- Upgrade available — heavy-duty pivot zone
Toyota Remote Head Key
Toyota Camry, Corolla, RAV4, Highlander, Tacoma — they all share one failure: the shell seam splits. The two plastic halves separate, usually starting at a corner.
The car still starts. The key is physically falling apart. This is a shell problem — not an electronics problem. We replace the housing and you're done.
- Shell splitting along the main seam
- Button surface worn or non-responsive
- Key head loosening from blade housing
- Panic button area cracked or missing
- Car starts fine — key is physically failing
